Role Purpose: Reporting to the Group Management Accountant to provide a comprehensive accounts assistant service to the business including responsibilities for purchasing/stock administration.

Purchasing / Costing

  • Calculation of delivered costs for raw materials, packaging etc.
  • Reviewing standard cost calculations to keep the system up to date

Stock Control

  • Help to set up new stock system for recording data
  • Prepare monthly stock take reports
  • Investigate and resolve any stock take discrepancies – perform reconciliations of issuing / receipts into stock
  • Review minimum/maximum stock levels on a monthly basis
  • Prepare month end stock journal
  • Review stock turnover of products

General Accounts

  • Accruals / Prepayments
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monthly Sales Reconciliations
  • Submit weekly payment runs to Head Office
  • Reporting (sales / purchasing / gross margin reports)

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria

  • Previous administrative experience working in an office environment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise own work, meet deadlines.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible approach and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Qualified AAT / Part qualified ACCA or CIMA
