Business Development Manager (Construction Environmental)
c.£50,000 Basic + bonus c.£60,000 OTE (open and flexible) + £5,000 Car Allowance + Expenses

Based from home, Selling to Civil and Consulting Engineers, managing Sales Development Ideally you will have experience within the construction industry where you have participated in or led project contract discussions to secure new business. Knowledge of civil engineering detailing and construction techniques would be advantage but not essential as work experience and attitude will be the overriding factor.
You will be joining a ground-breaking market leader with the backing of a Global well-established group. selling an innovative set of environmentally friendly solutions mainly to Civil Engineers and Consulting Engineers, joining a close-knit team at a time of expansion (as we grow from 2 to 4 Sales managers) to handle current demand and future potential. You will need to be proactive in your Sales approach however you will inherit the area customer base and share a Telemarketer who will make some new appointments for you too.
Ideally you will come from the Construction Materials sector, have experience using Glenigan and Hubspot. Whilst we are dividing the UK into 4 areas this is one of the largest and we would envisage you being on the road Monday to Thursday with Friday at home for paperwork etc.
The Role:
- Identify new prospect opportunities and promote our solutions.
- Develop external product and application awareness to contractors, local authorities, architects and engineering practices.
- Assist prospects / customers in understanding the product specification to support the production of conceptual and detailed design work.
- Collaborate and support all external partners and specifiers etc., to generate regular new specifications for our product range and converting to orders.
- Respond proactively to all customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Contribute to our turnover growth by securing new business and growing turnover from existing customers.
- Attend exhibitions and meet the buyer events to promote our products and solutions
- Providing CPD’s to consulting engineers and contractors.
- Work well as part of a team and support team requirements.
The ideal candidate:
- Extensive experience in providing CPD’s to architects and engineers
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in the construction materials sector
- Sales experience to Local authorities, Consulting Engineers and Contractors on commercial developments / infrastructure projects.
- Be highly numerate with sound contract and commercial knowledge, covering contract pricing, bids and tendering processes
- Experience in customer facing roles within the construction industry where you have participated in and/or led project contract discussions to secure new business.
- Experience of using AutoCAD, Civil 3D software (Desirable), Glenigan and Hubspot
- IT literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint andExcel;
- Home based role on patch and hold a full UK licence with a maximum of 6 points.
