Solar Electrical Supervisor

c.£30,000 to £45,000 (flexible on Experience) + 23 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, Company sick pay, Company pension scheme, Health Insurance

An interesting role for a qualified electrician to join a team as the Electrical guru looking after all the electrical aspects of Solar projects nationwide. Based in the greater Manchester area and happy to make site visits one or two days per week.

Job Purpose

This is an opportunity to join one of Manchester’s fastest growing companies. The candidate will join our management team and be responsible for managing all Electrical aspects of commercial roof-top and ground mounted solar PV projects, ensuring delivery is efficient and to a high standard. Our typical project size ranges from 150k to £3m.

Overview of role

Plan, supervise and support the installation of electrical activities to ensure smooth and seamless project delivery.

Complete on site surveys for projects including electrical designs/schematics and bills of materials.

Plan and schedule electrical works including on site-audits. Maybe required to work on site from time to support the project delivery and provide guidance to junior electricians.

Work closely within the project management team in scheduling projects and determining project plan/ timescales.

Complete final quality checks and on site audits, testing and commissioning.

Skills & Experience

• Comprehensive understanding of electrical installations, testing & inspection (BS 7671 – 18th Edition, Electrical Test and Inspection 2391)

• Preferably a time-served electrician (5 years qualified+)

• Experience @ supervisor/ management level

• SMSTS (preferred but not essential)

• Gold ECS card (preferred but not essential)

• First Aid (preferred but not essential)

• Pasma

• IPAF

• Full UK driving licence

• Ability to complete electrical schematics (CAD Preferred)

• Clear communicator, confident in communicating and influencing at all levels

• An understanding of commercial solar photovoltaic systems (preferred, but not essential)
