Group Health and Safety Leader
£70,000.00-£80,000.00
You will ideally have experience within a Medium to large heavy Industrial/Manufacturing environment, possibly having come through from being a Mechanical Engineer yourself or you have a good understanding and empathy within the Engineering environment.
In this role you will be a visible regular visitor to the Group Shop floors, using your communication skills ( a good Bedside Manner) to enable you to positively interact with the work force checking they are able to follow the H&S legislation and compliance. This is not a box ticking, paperwork office job we do not see your role as office based you will probably spend up to 80% of your time in the heart of the business giving you a thorough understanding and the ability to solve problems before they arise. Carrying out Audits and Inspections and as an incident arises you would make that your priority.
Each company (all in and around the Stoke on Trent area) have a Health and Safety Manager, they manage the daily training, paperwork reporting to their own MD. This role requires somebody able to work closer with the Engineering side you will need to have the courage to speak out to the company Directors and the ability to motivate those who need to understand the importance of following procedures. Ideally you will have worked in a role with somewhere in the region of 200 to 300 employees per site big enough to have encountered most problems small enough for you to have control over all areas.
Qualification
• Essential – Health & Safety qualification – NEBOSH Diploma
• CMIOSH
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a Manufacturing environment.
