Health & Safety Trainee/Co-ordinator
£25,000 to £27,000 + 33 days Holiday + Pension+ Training
This is an exciting opportunity for somebody looking to develop their career within Health and safety coming in under the wing of the Health and Safety Manager to learn the ropes and develop your career. You may have IOSH NEBOSH or maybe more junior but had some exposure to ISO’s or some internal H&S training.
We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Co-ordinator to come and join the team.
Supporting the Health & Safety Manager and located in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, you will support the site in maintaining their H&S compliance and ensuring that systems are in place creating a safe place of work for our employees, visitors and contractors.
The Role:
- Assist / Carry out and review periodic site inspections.
- Support the implementation of H&S improvement plans.
- Assist and complete risk assessments.
- Conduct employee inductions.
- Monitor and control workwear and PPE issue including monitoring suitability.
- Monitor and review welfare arrangements.
- Control LEV system inspections and documentation.
- Control HAVS monitoring equipment and documentation.
- Schedule training needs including H&S tool box talks, including third party training;
- Assist with other tasks as may be required with the role.
The Person:
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of some of the responsibilities listed above.
- Hands-on / can-do approach to the role with a flexible attitude.
- A NEBOSH general certificate or other H&S qualification.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good all round organisational and communication skills.
- Able to work well as an individual and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail.
