Lab Technician Nights
Your Analytical brain or a background in Lab work will help you secure this Laboratory Technician role with training and prospects.
You will be trained on how to calibrate your equipment and then take Samples (working closely with our Melt Shop) providing in-process chemical analysis. Running multiple tests and advise the Manufacturing team on any changes to be made. Working as one of our Spectrometer Lab technicians in our Chemical Analysis Laboratory is a highly rewarding responsible role which offers ongoing training and development.
Initially whilst training up to 3 to 6 months you will be on the day shift 6-2pm and once competent will move on to a rolling Shift of Days and nights 6-2pm and 10pm to 6am.
Any Experience of working with Iron, steel, nickel and cobalt alloys, utilising multiple analysis techniques would be an advantage, but full training will be given. These techniques include spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, combustion techniques and others.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a laboratory environment, however full specific training will be given.
Also having a basic understanding of the use of computers is important (Excel, Word etc), and shall have at least a GCSE (or equivalent) in Mathematics, English and a Science.
The position is for dayshift (37.5hrs per week) and leading to a mix of days and nights both Monday to Friday and may include from time-to-time overtime during the week and/or a Saturday morning shift.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible in relation to overtime to cover the melt-shop production requirements.
The starting Salary on Days would be from £21,450 once trained moving up to £24,375 and if working alternate nights and days will be £27,421. Could be negotiable if more experienced.
