NDT Inspector (Dye Penetrant Inspector)
£35k – £40k plus overtime + 33 days Holiday
Due to on going expansion we have a vacancy for an experienced and skilled Dye Penetrant Inspectors to join our existing team on a permanent and full-time basis.
The Role:
Working as part of a skilled team, you will be inspecting components and welded joints on a variety of projects for critical applications in the Nuclear & Defence sectors. These require high standards and must comply with national and international standards and specifications. The work being produced is for long term multi-year projects which are likely to repeat in the future, providing unrivalled job security for the right individuals.
You will need to be self-motivated and determined with consistently high standards. The ability to use your own initiative to manage your workload priorities and also to deal confidently and professionally with customer appointed witness inspectors. You will be required to obtain enhanced vetting security clearance which the company will sponsor you for.
Dye Penetrant Inspector Duties and Responsibilities:
· Carry out Dye Penetrant inspections on various components and welded surfaces in accordance with contract requirements.
· Ensure that correct viewing conditions are maintained in order to perform compliant inspections.
· Ensure that all records are kept up to date and that contractual documentation is filled in correctly.
· Ensure that all calibrated equipment and consumables are kept in good condition and are suitable for use on inspection.
· Verify that all technical drawings and method statements are being adhered to.
· You may be required to work at height and in confined spaces (full equipment and training will be provided).
· Adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
· Assist in the development, training and mentoring of apprentices and trainees.

Dye Penetrant Inspector Requirements and Qualifications:
· Minimum of PCN Level II Dye Penetrant Inspection Qualification
· Desirable to also hold PCN Level II or ASNT Level II Magnetic Particle Inspection
· Desirable to also hold either PCN level II or CSWIP 3.1 Weld Inspection qualifications.
· Experience of manufacturing equipment for high integrity projects, desirably in austenitic stainless steels.
· Experience of using overhead cranes for lifting and turning large components during inspections.
· Ability to work and problem solve within a small, specialised team.
· Preferably have had previous SC national security vetting status.
