Quality Manager
£40,000 to £55,000 + Benefits + 33 days Holiday
A unique opportunity for an experienced and accomplished Quality Manager to take the lead role in this exciting phase of the company’s development. You will be dealing with Suppliers with maybe one or two supplier visits per month, customer complaints and Audits. Ideally you will be from an Engineering background or have a Mechanical Appreciation, able to formulate procedures and help ensure they are followed.
Ideally coming from a Precision Engineering / Automotive / Aerospace manufacturing operation, you will be a hands-on quality professional who possesses an expert and practically orientated approach. You will lead and support all quality related activities to ensure that their processes, procedures and products meet the exacting quality standards required in serving customers worldwide.
THE ROLE:
·Lead and manage the quality function ensuring that the customer receives the product to the highest standard;
·Support current challenges in reviewing and defining where required operating procedures from a systems and process perspective;
·Drive continuous improvements by establishing quality objectives that are monitored, analysed and regularly reviewed;
·Facilitate and support Internal & External Audits as well as assessment / audit of sub-contractors and ensure the resulting actions are executed to closure;
·Support business development and bid compliance, including customer quality acceptance criteria.
·Work to prevent non-conformances, customer complaints, concessions and rework by continually developing the Quality capability across the business
The Candidate:
· An appreciation of Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science;
·Recognised qualification in Quality Management Systems;
·At least five years of quality and systems experience operating at management level;
·Significant Precision Engineering, Automotive or Aerospace manufacturing experience, preferably to include composite products;
·Experience of ISO9001 and ENAS9100 Quality Management Systems and proven Quality improvement projects using industry standard tools and techniques;
·Able to initiate and lead change; deliver tangible results and demonstrate resilience under pressure;
·Be in commutable distance to the clients Stoke-on-Trent location as opportunities for remote working would be very limited;
·Highly computer literate, Microsoft Office based competences, with data compilation and analysis capabilities;
·Practical and positive with a flexible and conscientious “get it done” approach to work load;
·Communicates with impact and clarity; assertive and influential; builds effective and supportive working and business relationships.
