Site Foreman (Roofer/Solar)

Manchester Based with UK Site Visits
You will be joining one of Manchester’s fastest growing companies as a key part of the management team based out of the Manchester office 1 or 2 days per week and 3 or 4 days across various sites around the UK. The Site Foreman will be instrumental in leading the companies health and safety protocols, managing timesheets, schedules and ensuring projects are completed on time. As a key part of the management team you will be helping in maintaining operational excellence and fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.

The Site Forman will serve as the primary leader for all health and safety initiatives on-site. They will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, conduct regular inspections, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Working closely with project teams, the Site Forman will oversee the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring projects are completed within scope, on time, and within budget. They will create and monitor project schedules, identifying and addressing potential delays promptly. The Site Forman must be roof competent and will also assist in the daily activities.
Managing timesheets, labour allocation, and equipment usage efficiently is crucial for project success. The Site Forman will optimise resources to maximize productivity, minimize waste, and control costs effectively.
Acting as a central point of contact, the Site Forman will liaise between on-site teams, subcontractors, project managers, and clients. Clear and effective communication will ensure alignment with project goals and timely resolution of any issues.
The Role
Lead and enforce all health and safety protocols on-site, conducting regular inspections and safety meetings.
- Develop and implement safety procedures and ensure adherence by all on-site personnel.
- Manage project schedules, coordinating tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow to meet project deadlines.
- Oversee timesheets and labour allocation, ensuring accurate recording and efficient use of resources.
- Act as a mentor and leader for on-site teams, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and collaboration.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to maintain positive relationships and ensure project requirements are met.
- Collaborate with the head office team, providing daily updates, weekly progress reports, and coordinating logistical support.
- Maintain detailed records of site activities, progress reports, and any incidents for documentation and analysis.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and enhanced efficiency on-site.
A background in Solar would be an advantage but by no means essential, more important you will need to be a strong leader and aware of the risk with working at height.
